Hospitality & Catering – Redirect Surplus, Not Effort

In hospitality, even the best planning can’t always predict demand. Cancelled functions, last-minute order changes, or overproduction can leave you with perfectly good food, but nowhere for it to go. KiwiHarvest works with hotels, caterers, event venues, and institutional kitchens to safely collect surplus food and deliver it to local charities, foodbanks, and community groups supporting people in need.

If you have safe, commercially prepared food in usable volumes, we can help you turn that surplus into support.

What Can You Donate?

We accept:

  • Unserved, commercially prepared meals (e.g. buffet trays, pre-packaged catering items)

  • Packaged or portioned surplus from cancelled events

  • Excess stock of fresh, frozen, or ambient ingredients

  • Hotel pantry or kitchen surplus (unopened, in-date items only)

  • Grab-and-go items (sandwiches, wraps, salads) prepared under commercial food safety conditions

Please note: We cannot accept food that has been served, opened, or exposed to the public (e.g. buffet leftovers).

Why Donate?

  • Reduce food waste and disposal costs

  • Avoid throwing away time, labour, and good ingredients

  • Support people in your local community

  • Align with your venue’s sustainability and corporate responsibility goals
